Tasks and Responsibilities:
The Global Projects & Industry Solutions (GPIS) Product is a specialized team, within DB
Schenker, that provides logistics solutions for Projects as well as dedicated forwarding solutions for defined industry segments, using all possible combinations of ocean, air, road,
rail and inland waterways. Solutions cover a full range of project freight management, complete supply chain services, specialized or complex cargo movements, cargo consolidations and warehousing, chartering and engineering, HSEQ management, urgent deliveries and general transportation of materials. GPIS engagement covers a client’s life cycle from technology development, to capital expenditure (Capex) through to operational expenditure (Opex).
•Review customer Tender requirements and ensure a timely completion of complex TECHNICAL & COMMERCIAL multimodal transport solution bid responses.
•Liaise & interface with the project and tender management teams as well as other internal and external parties (other Product & Tender Management teams within DBS organization, Compliance, Risk & Finance departments, 3rd party transport providers, heavy haulage & lift companies, vessel operators and other subcontractors etc.) to complete the bid within the given time frame.
•Prepare complete Method statements incl. route surveys to evaluate feasibility of requested services of heavy and oversized load transports.
•Supporting our REGIONAL Global Projects & Industry Solutions (GPIS) product management team to design and develop new and practical multimodal transport solutions to the highest standards also in remote and challenging environments
•Interfacing with our main countries on regular basis and with 3rd party agents & subcontractors to ensure timely receipt of commercial proposals and technical materials
•Ensuring a completion of the commercial and technical offers in time
•Assisting different GPIS country management teams in upcoming strategic tender opportunities as well as customer meetings.
•Data collection, reviewing and publishing of local tender blocks (country information, ports, customs, transport restrictions/permitting, etc.)
Your Profile / Requirements:
•Minimum of 5 years’ relevant work experience in multi-disciplinary project and / or construction teams
•International work experience will be a PLUS
•Proven experience in leading project and / or construction tender management processes and teams.
•Creativity and strong analytical skills to solve complex technical issues with innovative solutions
•Able to work in a high-pressure environment while maintaining a pragmatic approach
•Team player who also likes to coach junior team members in the different tasks
•Well-developed leadership skills supported by strong communication skills
•Good command of the English language, both written and spoken
•Willingness to travel and work abroad if / when required.
•Location: Hamburg or Düsseldorf.
