Accounts that are out of the norm, must be
able to support the customer’s purchasing group and work with the customer's vendors to ensure bookings meet the

Attend weekly customer conference calls and
be able to respond to the customers questions regarding pending shipments
and their pending orders.
Responsible for getting customer approval for
accessorial charges in real time.
Ensure that ocean import rate cards are filed
with the FMC once the customer approves the rate card.
Confirm all ocean freight rates are up to
date before approving bookings with our origin offices.
Responsible for backing up the Ocean Import
Supervisor when needed.
Responsible for assisting in the training of
new employees when required.
Will have their own customer list that the
OI Specialist will be responsible for all customers on the list.
Work with the various TOC’s to ensure
shipments are being monitored and scheduled for delivery.
Responsible for LCL shipments including
customer service, freight forwarding, sending out required A/N and documents.
Communicating with CFS stations to ensure
shipments are released and picked up timely.
Knowledge and Skills (The following minimum requirements are normal guidelines and should not constrain the advancement of otherwise qualified personnel):
This is a senior level position. Generally prefer 3-6 years of experience. Good interpersonal skills required. Knowledge of Word and Excel. Knowledge of general freight forwarding terms and standards. Knowledge of U.S. Customs Regulations and Harmonized Tariff Schedule. Basic knowledge of accounting functions and relative information retrieval. High school diploma or equivalent required
