Wir bieten

DB International Operations, located in Berlin, acquires, initiates and manages rail operations and maintenance projects outside of Europe. Therefore we are looking for transport and mobility enthusiasts and entrepreneurs with long-standing experience in engineering and business in Germany and worldwide. We are currently seeking you to join our passionate and performance driven team to manage tenders, build local companies from scratch to full operations, steer quality and performance and enable know-how transfer to our customers and rail business in Germany.

Join us as Senior Commercial Manager International Projects (f/m/d) at DB International Operations located in Berlin at the earliest possible opportunity.


Your responsibilities:

  • You will set up a proper business case incl. a comprehensive risk assessment
  • You will work out the commercial proposal for complex international rail operation and maintenance tenders
  • You will develop commercial partner models with regard to scope, profit, risk and governance splits
  • You will negotiate commercial key points (e.g. price offer, scope split, risk sharing) with customers and partners
  • You will align with various stakeholders (bid team, relevant group units, board, auditors, etc.)
  • You will support the ramp-up of international companies and monitor the commercial performance
Your profile:

  • You have completed a degree in business administration, finance, economics oder similar (Master`s/diploma)
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in business planning including a good understanding of cost and revenue drivers and risk management 
  • You have experience in the production development and negotiation of cooperation of joint venture models and contracts
  • You have ideally worked in rail industry, in tender or M&A projects
  • You have strong analytical and conceptual competence
  • You are familiar in preparing decision materials, also for board level
  • You are well versed with the standard software in particular with Excel
  • You have social and intercultural competence
  • Fluent spoken and written English and German is a requirement, additional languages are highly welcome
  • You are willing to take business trips abroad
