About 5,000 employees from 84 nations are currently realizing the projects of our customers with professional knowledge and intercultural experience.For our team in Latin America, we are looking for a Principal Consultant for Railway Operations (m/f/d) to join our team in Mexico, Brasil or Colombia.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise consulting projects managed by reporting Senior Consultants, ensuring quality, cost, and timely delivery of the projects
- Act as the Project Manager and as a key resource on strategically important and/or innovative projects in the area of railway operations
- Transform successful innovative projects into regular services that can be performed by Senior Consultants
- Engage in iterative planning processes that refine and evaluate alternative concepts until acceptable and feasible solutions are identified
- Write technical reports that document the project’s approach, inputs, analyses, assumptions, planning iterations, and findings
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships
- Monitor clients’ RFPs and actively identify opportunities throughout the project
- Prepare proposals and pursuits, including the development of project methodologies, budgets and schedules
- Develops DB E&C’s business by recruiting, developing and managing team of reporting Senior Consultants and Project Engineers
- Leads Senior Consultants’ project acquisition efforts and pursue strategically important new business opportunities
Please note that previous experience in the railway sector is a must.
Your profile:
- A university degree in Engineering with a focus on Transport Planning or Railways similar (M.Sc.)
- At least 10 years of related experience with consulting for railway projects with a focus on rail strategic transportation planning / urban planning/operations planning/planning and scheduling etc. is a must
- Previous experience as the people manager to develop the consultants, execute and deliver the projects
- Demonstrable project management experience, including the ability to perform under pressure
- Proactive approach and ability to think out of the box to identify and acquire new business opportunities for the railway portfolio
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Business-oriented mindset and maturity in client relationships
- Resilient, flexible, independent, and well-structured working approach
- Proficiency in rail transportation planning tools such as Opentrack, Viriato
- Professional working proficiency in English and Spanish. Knowledge of German will be a huge asset
The position can be based in one of our offices in Mexico City, Medellin or Rio de Janeiro.
Principal Consultants report to the Executive Director LATAM and Consulting Head LATAM.
