Tasks & Responsibilities:
• Organize and execute work following an established process to receive and audit receipt of shipment documents and notifications from various sources.
• Validate account status (POA on file, credit check) or initiate account set-up.
• Review commercial and shipping documents in order to organize specific identifiers and document types. Induct and index documents.
• Utilize import systems to gather/validate, create shipment files, transfer data between systems and facilitate shipment payments when required.
• Review transportation files to assure compliance (ISF filed on ocean files).
• Research, communicate and resolve operational problems, utilizing system shipment notes to record actions. Work with other product groups on resolution as necessary.
• Review and understand special shipment types (consolidated entry, CLF, carnets, section entries, etc.) taking special care to properly manage internal systems and compliance standards.
• Review and manage special customer requirements as required.
• Monitor and control files within shared email boxes, electronic workflow tool, brokerage, and transportation systems as required.
• Support management of file initiation operations, ensuring timely processing and assignment of files to next team in the workflow
• Other duties as assigned by management• Intermediate to advanced computer skills with working knowledge of MS Office Suite
• Basic knowledge of accounting functions and relative information retrieval.
• General customs brokerage/logistics industry knowledge helpful.
• Knowledge of general freight forwarding terms and standards.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, communication and organizational skills required.
• Ability to trouble-shoot and collaborate with different business units.
