The Delivery Manager Cloud Services within the business unit “Global Infrastructure Services” is responsible for functional management of the virtual Global Support Team operating DB Schenker’s Cloud environments, based on our modern hybrid hosting architecture and based on the global support processes and tools.
This role contributes to the Cloud Journey of DB Schenker by leading the Operations Team supporting our AWS and Azure environments, ensuring support of more than 5000 transitioned workloads. Furthermore, this person will be part of the Core Cloud Services team - evangelizing and training existing and new infrastructure staff in our global environment. 
The Cloud Operations Team belongs to the Infrastructure Platform Services, which is part of the Global Infrastructure Services (GIS) department. It targets to operate in a follow-the-sun 24x7 availability, and that means that some work might need to happen during weekends, and on rare occasions also outside from office working hours. 

Your tasks:

  • Performing all IT activities and duties in the area of responsibility in accordance with all relevant legal requirements, SOPs, guidelines, rules of procedure, by-laws and compliance rules
  • Responsibility for all activities, employees within her/his organizational unit (team)
  • Aligns with his/her strong functional line manager
  • Contributes to potential process improvements and implements according changes
  • Manages all customer related activities assigned to his/her functional area of responsibility
  • Provides input to business technology planning within their functional area
  • Takes part in implementation of IT initiatives to support business & IT strategy
  • Provides input to the technology framework and human resources plan
  • Monitors his/her work assignments. Meets regularly with team to gather work statuses
  • Establishes measurable individual objectives that are aligned with department goals
  • Ensures staff has the resources and skills needed to support all work initiatives
  • Management, development and mentoring of team members
Your Requirements:
  • University degree in related technical/business areas or equivalent work experience 
  • Multiple years experience in building and leading virtual, distributed IT Operations teams
  • DevOps mindset
  • Basic knowledge of ITIL processes (Foundation Level)
  • Basic knowledge of IT security regulations and standards such as ISO 27001
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across diverse organizations, groups and functions
  • Flexible thinker able to operate in a changing environment
  • Fluent Business English (written and spoken)
